It’s not quite a state like Hawaii, it’s under US protection though with laws and systems similar to the US. Yes as a US citizens, you can live and work there.

you can move there if you want theres absolutely nothing there other than a military base

Yes, you can move and live there if you’re an American. It’s an American territory. So people there are American citizens. But because Guam isn’t a ‘state’, residents of Guam can’t vote for president, neither do they have a senator… and their representatives can’t vote in congress either.

Hawaii, on the other hand, IS a US state just like California or New York or Texas or Iowa are. It just happens to be a chain of island rather far off the main shore. That’s all.

Any American citizen can move to Guam. Everyone on Guam, who was born on Guam, is an American citizen too.

Your odds of finding a good job, unless you have some unique skills or a great education, are between slim and none.

im from guam and yes guam is part of the US we are a territory of the united states. but before you want to come live here you should know that it is very small and soon, the marines is going to move here from okinawa; It is going to be very crowded. ps i would like to comment on the person who answered this question and said that there is absolutely nothing here but a military base. There are us natives born and raised on guam. we have our own land soon to be taken from us to be used by the military. we are losing our culture, soon our historical sites will be gone. our landmarks like statues of our chiefs would be teased and broken and tagged. it hurts alot that people are saying things of which they know nothing of. we have more than a military base! We are an island that has its culture its people its landmarks, its historical sites its own language.
