This is for a French essay and I have decided to pick Beirut as my city. I have never lived there so I also really really want to know more about Beirut! Please answer in French if possible but English will be perfect as well! Shukran kteeeeeeeeer

Most importantley, you never feel alone! u have families, friends, neighbours, & relatives. People are affectionest, knowledgable, educated, & very social. It is within in walking distance to every where. Beirut is very small, that "s what makes everybody knows everybody. You habe beaches within walking distance or u can hop in a service, which is like a share cab. very cheap too. Transportation is awesome. T he disadventage is, too expensive. People don"t make enough income foe luxurious living. You have to buy drinking water, even in a restaurant or cafes, the cut the electricity for few hours a day. But you can pay x-tra money for electric subscription to private businesses. Too congested because lots of people from the south & some villaged moved down to Beirut, because they lost their homes. People don"t know how to wait in line . They are not organized, but they love life. be careful of the motorcyclists, they call them moto, they drive on the side walks & snatch peoples purses & fly out of sight very fast. Even if u r sitting in a car, someone might snatch your purse, if u have it on your lap. That is something u have to be aware of! People on the streets are loud, not too considerate about the comfort of others. Cars are very poluting & noisy. Peep peep peep that"s the sound you hear all the time. So, it depends on the area & location you pick. You will find lots of decent quiet locations, but they are too expensive. But the food & restaurant there are fabulous! Actually, we are considering to move back there someday, because all our families live there. We live in Chicago now. Oh, by the way most people there speak at least 2 or 3 languages. Arabic, English & Frensh. Good luck with your essay, Hope i didn"t say too much for u to read.
Les avantages de la vie a Beyrouth seraient
1- C’est la capitale du Liban, le coeur du pays. Les activites y sont centrees (la vie nocturne, les banques, le commerce, les restaurants, etc.)
2- Quand on est a Beyrouth, tout devient proche. L’aeroport, la mer (les plages)…
3- Les universites les plus renommees du Liban se situent a Beyrouth (AUB, LAU, UL, AUST..)
4- Les hopitaux les plus renommes se situent egalement dans la capitale (examples)
Les inconvenients
1- On s’eloigne de la vie rurale, de la nature.
2- On devient trop epris par la mondialisation. Beyrouth est la ville la plus ouverte a la mondialisation, ce qui fait que l’on s’eloigne parfois des traditions libanaises.
3- Celui qui vit a Beyrouth a parfois du mal a en sortir. On devient tellement habitues a la vie de Beyrouth qu’on n’arrive plus a s’adapter a une autre ville libanaise.
It’s all i can think of at the moment
advantages – great culture, great people , lots to do… clubbing etc, great atmosphere and breath taking. beaches, shopping etc great at christmas
disadvantages – eletric, they dnt have it 24 hours only downtown. not luxury living conditions… unless your taling about beriut downtown! not easy life, hard working hours … in jobs etc busy, very noisy, lots os smell of car fumes all the time etc thats all i can think of right now

The cons
1 – distance from the rural life, nature.
2 – You become too enamored of globalization. Beirut is the city most open to globalization, so that the distance of some Lebanese traditions.
3 – if you live in Beirut its sometimes hard to get out. You get so familiar to life in Beirut that can’t adapt to most other Lebanese town.
beirut is a great city with great people they love to live their day day by day working in the morning and having fun at night you will never find a restaurant without Lebanese people dancing drinking laughing
they are also the greatest business human you can ever deal with
great view for the sun set from the top of their mountain
