The so called "traditional family" is a mother, a father (married to each other) and their children living together. Both parents are working full time.
In Denmark, we don’t really use that term anymore, it is almost considered "ancient" to talk about the "traditional family".
As in all other countries in the "modern world", there are a lot of couples living the "traditional" family life, without being married. They secure each other, with other legal documents (or maybe not), but living together without being married is equally accepted in the Danish society.
Some parents are single parents – some by choice – some not.
A lot of people get divorced, and find new partners – so a lot of families are with his and her children, and maybe their children.
Some children has both a "bonus mom" and a "bonus dad". "Bonus" brothers and sisters.
For some families it works out fine, for some it does not.
